FIVE businesses along Queen Street in Newton Abbot town centre are up for sale.

Three cafés, a bookmakers and a restaurant are listed on property website Zoopla.

The freeholds for The Pharmacy Café, Ladbrokes, Lemon Jelli, Coffee Couture and Tean’s Thai Kitchen are available for purchase.

At present, the above are available at the following prices: £25,000; £330,000; £140,000; £39,500 and £600,000.

This comes as discount retailer Poundland announced it plans to sell up, putting its stores, including one in Newton Abbot, at risk.

Several shops, including Queen Street Butchers and Bekra Models, have either closed or moved out of Queen Street in the last six months.

Popular record shop, Phoenix Sounds, is the latest departure, set to move to new premises on East Street in June.
