A GROUP of Newton Abbot businesses have secured funding for a brand new website for the town.

Funding secured through Teignbridge District Council’s allocation of UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) will enable the creation of a brand-new ‘Visit Newton Abbot’ website, celebrating the unique character of the TQ12 area.

With Queen Street’s redevelopment nearly complete, and with support from Newton Abbot Town Council and Teignbridge District Council, local business owners recognised the need for a central online resource that will showcase what makes Newton Abbot such a special place to live, work, and visit.

Drawing on the UKSPF’s focus on boosting pride in place, enhancing life chances and supporting local business, the project aims to encourage residents and visitors alike to explore all that Newton Abbot has to offer.

‘We are really pleased to have secured UKSPF funding for this website’ says Lisa Cox from MMC Ltd and Phoenix Sounds.

‘By bringing together local enterprise details, events, and attractions in one space, we’re strengthening Newton Abbot’s presence while championing the incredible people and businesses who make our town so vibrant’ she added.

Now, the team behind ‘Visit Newton Abbot’, which includes the Newton Abbot Chamber of Commerce and R50 Website Design & Marketing, are inviting TQ12 businesses to get involved by submitting a 100-word description of their business, logo, and contact details.

Whether a café, an independent retailer, a popular local venue, accommodation provider, or an attraction, the website is a chance to be part of a unified platform that boosts visibility to residents and visitors from far and wide, the team says.

In the coming weeks, some of the MMC, Phoenix Sounds and R50 team will be visiting businesses to gauge interest.

‘By working together under the banner of the UKSPF, we can ensure Newton Abbot continues to thrive, drawing people in to experience its friendliness, heritage, and flourishing local economy’ Lisa said.
