POLICE have arrested a man being sought following a serious accident on Sunday.

The collision in Teignmouth Road, Torquay left a 45-year-old man in a critical condition.

He sustained life-changing injuries in the collision between a red Vauxhall Astra and a building just before 10pm on Sunday March 16.

He remains in Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

Police, paramedics, firefighters and Devon Air Ambulance were called to the scene and the road was closed whilst a forensic examination of the scene was carried out.

A 32-year-old man from Torquay was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He has been released on police bail to return on Monday June 16, pending further enquiries.

A second person, a woman, who was being sought in relation to the incident, has been located and spoken with officers.

She sustained minor injuries.
