LESS than ideal weather did little to dampen spirits at this year's village fete in Ashcombe, which was described as an 'excellent show' by the Member of Parliament for Newton Abbot.

MP Anne Marie Morris said: 'Well done to the team at Ashcombe Village Fete for putting on a another great event!

'There were pony and dog competitions, falconry, fabulous local bread and sourdough.

'A wet day, but the excellent show went on!'

The show featured a recycled racehorse falconry, hawking display, the Dartmoor Hill pony display team and much more besides.
