HOTELS, restaurants and tourist attractions in south Devon are among the nominees for this year’s Devon Tourism Awards.
Now in their 15th year, the awards will be announced at an awards ceremony to be held isn Plymouth on November 21.
The 73 finalists were whittled down following a three month judging process.
Two special awards will also announced and eight will be rewarded with Commended status.
Awards organiser Robin Barker of Services for Tourism commented: ‘It has been great to see the judges and judging panel identify excellence across the board in what has been a tough time for many. I admire these businesses and offer congratulations to every one of them.’
Award categories cover everything from dog friendly, new tourism business, and accessible and inclusive tourism to restaurants, glamping, hotels and pubs.
In the running are the Riverside B&B, Newton Abbot for B&B Guesthouse of the year.
Holne Park in Ashburton is up for Business Venue of the Year and was also commended in the Wedding Venue of the Year category.
Campaign and Caravanning Park of the Year includes finalists River Dart Country Park and Wray Valley Camping in Newton Abbot.
Wray Valley is also shortlisted for Ethical, Responsible and Sustainable Tourism award.
The Large Hotel category finalists include Bovey Castle at North Bovey.
Newton Abbot’s Creeping Thyme restaurant is in the running for Restaurant of the Year.
The Mill End Hotel inn Chagford is a finalist in the Small Hotel of the Year category and River Dart Country Park is nominated for Small Visitor Attraction of the Year.
