MORE than 100 students from Teign School in Kingsteignton took part in the Race For Life to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Run dungeon National School Sports Week, the event raised £1,000 for the charity.
The race is an annual event organised by the school’s PE department and features music, balloons and a blow up obstacle course at the finish.
Teign School is known for its focus on PE and was recently awarded the School Games Gold Mark. Keira Wylie, head of PE at Teign School was also shortlisted for Secondary Subject Leader of the Year at this month’s TES Schools Awards.
Lucie Wagner, head of school at Teign School said:
‘I am so proud of all the students who took part in this year’s Race for Life.
‘Not only did they raise an amazing amount of money for Cancer Research UK, but they also celebrated the spirit of National Schools Sports Week.
‘At Teign we try to offer a variety of activities to get the students moving and having fun with the hope that this ultimately creates lifelong healthy habits.’
