ORGANISERS of an upcoming wheelbarrow race in Newton Abbot are calling for more teams to sign up.

The Great Rotary Wheelbarrow Race takes places on July 13 as a part of Rotary Newton Abbot’s summer farye at Courtenay Park.

Prospective teams of six to eight people will compete to see who can complete the most laps of a set course while pushing wheelbarrows.

‘The race is ideal for charities or sports clubs to obtain sponsorship and there will be cash prizes for winners’ said Rotarian Martin Smith.

Also, teams can compete in fancy dress.
