THREE fire engines descended upon a property in Shaldon on Saturday after reports of a kitchen fire.

Crew from Newton Abbot, Teignmouth and Torquay responded to the call on Saturday afternoon, February 15.

Upon arrival, smoke and flames were issuing from the kitchen of the property - a pan of oil had caught fire.

With a hose reel jet, safety jet, thermal imaging camera, smoke clearance fan and breathing apparatus, firefighters quickly set about extinguishing the fire.

The damage was contained to the kitchen, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service have said.
