THE authority responsible for clearing fly-tipping has issued a reminder to residents after a suspected incident in a Teignbridge town.
The incident of fly-tipping, which is defined as the illegal dumping of waste, was discovered on Friday, February 7 on a section of the road between River Dart Country Park and Pear Tree.
And in the wake of the incident, Teignbridge District Council have issued a reminder about what to do in the event of discovering dumped waste.
A spokesperson for Teignbridge District Council said: ‘Fly tipping is the illegal deposit of any waste onto land, e.g. waste dumped or tipped in a place with no licence to accept it.
‘This can be both on public or private land.
‘Any incidents of fly-tipping should be reported to Teignbridge District Council using our online reporting form - Report fly tipping - Teignbridge District Council.
‘We would suggest using the What3Words app to provide the exact locations of the fly-tipping.
‘We would also like to remind people that if you have waste to dispose, please ensure you are employing someone who is a registered waste carrier.
‘A full list of register of Waste Carriers, Brokers and Dealers can be found on the Environment Agency website - Waste Carriers, Brokers and Dealers.’
