THREE Dawlish charities are to benefit from a special fund-raising day at Luscombe Castle.
The event on Friday May 23 is a rare chance to visit the gardens at the privately-owned Grade I listed castle.
Geoff King, one of the organisers said: ‘This a rare opportunity to see the gardens which are a real spectacle at this time of year.
‘Luscombe is a private residence and we are very privileged to be allowed to hold an event there.
‘We are all very grateful to Sir David and Simon Hoare for allowing us to hold this event.’
Proceeds from the day, which runs from 11am to 3pm, will go to Friends of Dawlish Hospital, Dawlish Community Transport and Dawlish Gardens Trust.
As well as a chance to enjoy the gardens, designed in the 19th century by Humphrey Repton, there will be carious stalls, entertainment and food.
Free transport available at the end of the drive on Oak Hill opposite to West Cliff Road provided by Dawlish Community Transport.
Entry is £5 to include a hot drink and biscuits. Children under 14 are free.
Anyone willing to help on the day can contact Geoff on 07947 167834.
