“You don’t have to go it alone!”
The start of the new year is the perfect time to set yourself new goals and at the top of our resolution lists is to start shifting some weight and the Slimming World members in Dawlish have done just that!
In the first month of the new year, members of groups in Dawlish have lost an astonishing 1468 pounds - which is almost 105 stone!
Claire Hannaford, who runs the groups in Dawlish, shared how extremely proud she is of the changes that members have already made in 2025.
She also added her top tips for making a change to your diet if you are wanting to lose weight in a healthy way.
She said: “Swapping high fat, high sugar, high calorie unsatisfying foods (think chocolate, crisps and alcohol) for foods that are lower in calories and bulkier, so they will fill you up for longer, is key to losing weight in a way that’s easy to live with.
“Research shows that by basing your diet on low-energy dense foods, like fruit and veg, and foods that are most filling or satiating, like lean meat, fish, eggs, pasta & potatoes, you can actually eat a larger amount of food and feel more satisfied while losing weight.”
There has been an influx of new members who have already joined Claire’s Slimming World groups in Dawlish this year. Due to this massive demand, Claire is now creating additional sessions at The Scout Hut near the leisure centre in Dawlish.
The new sessions will be on Wednesday evenings at 7pm, and Thursday mornings at 8am.
