MAKE sure you vote on Thursday, in the local elections.
Who will get your vote in the Haytor Ward of Teignbridge Council, where one candidate will be your next councillors?
Here's some information on each of the candidates:
MARTYN JOHN EVANS, CONSERVATIVE:
CANDIDATE chose not to submit a profile.
TY LYNNE, SOUTH DEVON ALLIANCE:
Ty has lived with her family on the edge of Ilsington in the beautiful Haytor Ward since 2009. Both her children attended Blackpool and Widecombe primary schools. Ty is a yoga teacher and currently shares yoga in the local community and also volunteers at the fabulous Ilsington Village Shop.
Ty believes passionately in protecting and upholding democracy and would love to serve her local community in this way. If elected, she will listen to and represent local concerns and will aim to be a calm, respectful, totally independent voice on the council for our community, protecting our environment and beautiful local landscape.
Ty spent many years in Asia, travelling, living, studying. As well as yoga teacher qualifications, she also has a business studies degree and has worked in various business / charity admin roles.
ANDRE SABINE, HERITAGE PARTY:
I AM concerned with our current direction, and lack of any real opposition. Disillusioned with the all the other political parties I took the decision to stand as a heritage party candidate in the upcoming local elections. I wholeheartedly support our Heritage, family values and a common-sense approach to policies. Our culture, heritage and freedoms are under attack by subversive ideologies, misinterpreted political correctness and questionable actions performed under the ‘saving the planet’ headlines. We need to restore and preserve what is left of our culture, historical buildings, countryside, towns and villages and stop the rampant over development and utilise empty buildings, empty office spaces and sites. Our liberties and freedoms are being taken away incrementally and without transparent consultation.
ROBERT HOWARD STEEMSON, INDEPENDENT:
I AM married and live within Haytor Ward, and our children attend Blackpool School and South Dartmoor Community College, respectively.
I have worked for the Dartmoor National Park Authority for forty-two years fulfilling several senior management roles and am currently a Ranger. I am well versed in the workings of local government and have an extensive knowledge of, and contacts within many organisations, partners, and agencies.
For the last eight years I have been Vice Chair of Ilsington Parish Council leading on many important local community projects. I am also a school governor and involved with the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
Four years ago, I lost by 55 votes to another independent so would appreciate your support this time
