DRUGS with a street value of more than £10,000 have been seized by police in Ashburton, with two men being arrested in connection.
Having carried out enquiries after noticing some suspicious behaviour in the area, officers from the South Devon Proactive Team searched two men under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.
A quantity of drugs were located which led officers to search a nearby address, where they located a rucksack of suspected cannabis and heroin – with an estimated street value of more than £10,000
Drug paraphernalia including scales, packaging, multiple mobile phones and sim cards were also found and seized.
Two local men, aged 52 and 53, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of heroin and possession of a controlled drugs.
The two men have been released on bail while enquiries continue.
