IT problems are affecting Torbay Hospital’s accident and emergency department today.

Anyone trying to contact the hospital by phone may have difficulties, hospital bosses say.

A spokesman said: ‘We’re really sorry but we’re having some IT issues today which are affecting our emergency department at Torbay Hospital.

‘We’re working hard to get the issue resolved, but it does mean you may also experience difficulties if you are trying to contact the hospital by telephone.

‘Please help us by only using our emergency department or calling 999 if you need treatment and care for life-threatening and critical conditions.

‘Please either call your GP, use NHS 111, a community pharmacist or visit our urgent treatment centre if you need help but it’s not life-threatening.

‘Thank you for your support and we’ll let you know when these issues have been resolved.

‘We are sorry for any inconvenience.’
