THERE’S a new group in Bovey Tracey which is open to all the community.
The Riverside Community Group was set up by Helen Tate, and is aimed at letting people of all ages establish new friendships.
She explained: ‘There are a lot of isolated people in the community who are hoping to widen their social circle. They could be young mothers, people who work from home or those who simply live alone.
‘There is so much happening in Bovey Tracey and across the district during the day and evenings, which people would love to go to but don’t have anyone to go with.’
It’s early days for the group and Helen is letting it find its own path. She said: ‘It could be as simple as finding a new friend to go running with, or a group walk in Parke, lunch at a local venue or grab a cuppa at a local cafe.
‘One member is a florist and is suggesting a get together to make Christmas wreaths. We’re really open to any ideas. They might include shopping excursions or trips the theatre.’
