A COUPLE who have opened a new coffee shop in Ipplepen are opening their doors to a raft of community classes and events.
Mini first aid for babies and children, adoption information sessions and crafting are among the sessions available at the former Post Office premises.
Lisa and Dave Allen opened the independent shop but want to make a big difference in the community.
Their enterprise features a host of useful information and community events from crafting such as crochet for beginners, felting and wreath making to adoption information sessions and a mini first aid course.
Lisa and David now operate the premises in Fore Street by selling their own drink and food produce but also hosting regular community events.
David said: ‘We have lived in Ipplepen for eight years, so when the Post Office closed, we felt the village had lost its centre.
‘We did not want to see it become more housing, we believed it would be great to have somewhere for the community,’
Lisa added: ‘The response to setting up a coffee shop has been amazing.
‘We have been blown away by everyone’s support and positivity, just proving what a lovely village Ipplepen truly is.
‘We have a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
‘Dogs with well-behaved owners are welcome too.’
