BUDDING singers in Dawlish are being invited to compete for a chance to perform in front of a live audience and a recording session.
Sing It is a new event for Dawlish, aimed at first time singers and those looking to make a return to the stage.
Part of Dawlish Celebrates Carnival, the event is looking for new vocal talent.
Organisers are offering the winner a recording session at Gaz Music Solutions studio in Dawlish and to perform on The Lawn during Carnival week.
A panel of top local musicians will offer supportive feedback and identify the stand out performer.
Panel member and local singer songwriter Chris Ostler said: ‘Come and show us the talent you’ve kept to yourself for too long at Sing It! ’24 here in Dawlish.’ Chris will be joined on the panel by fellow local singer songwriter Ellie Finnerty who shot her contribution to social media promotions for the event from Sydney harbour where she is currently based performing on a cruise ship.
The free to enter competition is open to all singers aged over 16.
Online applications should be completed by Sunday May 26.
The winner will be chosen from entrants singing a song of their choice at the event on Tuesday August 13 at the Shaftesbury Theatre, Dawlish.
A spokesman for the event said: ‘We want you to come forward and share your voice with the people of Dawlish this summer.’
