HOMES were left without power and trees blocked roads as Storm Darragh battered south Devon over the weekend.
While the second named storm of the season wrecked havoc nationally, in south Devon, the damage was less than had been expected.
In Dawlish and Exminster, homes were without power for several hours.
Dawlish Town Council alerted walkers to several large trees which had fallen along the Brook and in the area and advising walkers to take care.
Trees were reported to have come down across the district including in Bishopsteignton and Dawlish.
Properties in Dawlish and Exminster were without power, among the 2,500 customers in the dark by late Monday.
At Berry Head in Brixham, winds were reported to have gusted to 96mph.
National Grid said it was ‘working hard to work hard in challenging weather conditions to restore power supplies’.
