A NEW military history group has been set up at Dawlish Library.
Interim library manager Rob Blackmore is behind its inception with his particular interest in the subject.
It meets on the middle Monday of each month.
Rob said the first meeting, which took place last month, proved very popular and everyone who attended found it interesting and ‘thought-provoking’.
The next meeting will take place on Monday April 12 between 2pm and 3pm.
The library is gearing up for spring with a host of new activities aimed to appeal to both young and old.
A new Bookchat group is being established for anyone interested in reading.
It is aimed at anyone into reading, looking for new authors or keen to share interests in book.
The group is the brainchild of one of the library assistants and takes place on the second Tuesday of each month at 10.30am.
The library’s chess club runs on Thursdays at 4pm.
Whether it’s a beginner or Grand Master, everyone is welcome to join to pitt their wits agains fellow club members.
Every Saturday there is a chance for youngsters to enjoy Lego.
The club runs between 10am and noon and once a month there is a special themes Lego challenge where participants can win a prize.
The next challenge takes place on April 15 and the challenge is to build something with an Easter theme.
As well as these activities, the library runs regular events and talks.
There is bingo and a raffle on April 1 from 6.45am, an Easter-themed quiz on Wednesday April 5 and a talk by horticulturalist Saul Walker on April 6.
