THE water service provider for Devon has this week announced that it has donated a total of £100,000 to local charities.
More than 50 charities across Devon and Cornwall have received a share of £100,000 from South West Water in the last twelve months.
The water and wastewater service provider’s Neighbourhood Fund, which launched in 2021, has benefitted hundreds of local community groups and charities that inspire physical activities, education, health and wellbeing, and positive environmental outcomes each year.
One such charity supported by South West Water, which serves close to two million customers, was Luna's Fund.
A baby loss and pregnancy after loss charity offering practical and emotional support to bereaved parents and expectant parents, Luna's Fund was presented with a cheque for £2,000.
Founder of Luna’s Fund, Aimee Conroy, said: ‘On behalf of the local baby loss community, we thank South West Water for facilitating support for those who found themselves in need of our unique services.’
Through South West Water’s funding Luna’s Fund was able to directly support 11 couples within the local baby loss community.
South West Water’s Customer Director, Ketan Hindocha, said: ‘There are so many fantastic charities and community initiatives which enrich the lives of our customers and visitors to the region and we’re proud to be able to support some of the amazing work they do.
‘The people driving these local causes are a real inspiration and reflect the very best qualities of the communities we serve.’
Applications for South West Water’s Neighbourhood Fund reopen in April.
