THE work to Queen Street is not to blame for a Newton Abbot pub not being able to serve draught drinks, despite a social media post claiming otherwise.

A post to the popular Facebook page, Spotted Newton Abbot, claimed that the town’s Wetherspoons could not serve draught products because it could not get take deliveries as a result of the ongoing work to Queen Street.

This is despite several signs clearly stating the reason to be ‘unforeseen issues’ with its gas system.

And, having spoken with staff, the Mid-Devon Advertiser can confirm that the issue has nothing to do with the Queen Street work.

It’s as the signs say: ‘Due to unforeseen issues with our gas, all draught products are currently unavailable.’
