A REMEMBRANCE poppy wreath joined a special train at Dawlish Station this morning, Friday, November 11.
The GWR train was heading to London Paddington where it would join others from across the country to be laid at the war memorial on platform one which honours railway workers who died in the Great War.
Dawlish mayor Cllr Lisa Mayne and Richard Hayward, branch chairman of Dawlish Royal British Legion, passed their wreaths over the GWR staff at 7.32am. Richard designs and sells Dawlish badges to raise money for the Poppy Appeal and having sold nearly all of them, placed the past one on his poppy.
Earlier stops were made at Teignmouth and Newton Abbot as the train made its way to the capital.
