WITH officers having been recently called to a dog attack on livestock, police are reminding people visiting Dartmoor to keep their pets under control.
‘Officers have recently been called to a dog attack on livestock, so we ask to please be conscious that it is a space shared by many including cattle, sheep and ponies.
‘Please keep your dogs on leads in working landscapes, stick to speed limits and be aware of your surroundings’ the spokesperson added.
Also, it is an offence if a dog is not on a lead or under close control in a field or enclosure of sheep.
If you witness an attack on livestock, please do not intervene; keep yourself safe and call 999.
Information relating to attacks on livestock that are not currently happening should be reported to the police online or by calling 101.
