WHILE there was a strong show of police on foot in the town centre this evening to halt any anti-social behaviour, they also found time to shake paws with some of the locals.

Nine-week-old Buddy made friends with our local Bobbies on the beat and drew some admiring comments on Facebook.

The police were in Newton Abbot to keep a lid on recent problems of anti-social behaviour and sent nine more youths on their way after issuing another dispersal order.

But on their Facebook page they later posted this picture with their latest little Buddy adding: ‘We also had time for this pawfect picture of nine-week-old Buddy.’

The picture was getting lots of likes and hearts and Police Advocate Cllr Mike Joyce chipped in with ‘This is policing at its best and how it should be. Wonderful.’
