NEW research undertaken by outdoor activities company Go outdoors has revealed the national parks with the best weather this October.
The research, known as the Great British Outdoors Index, looked at a variety of indicators to advise intrepid adventurers on where to go, when to go and who to follow.
National parks are great days out all year round, offering some amazing landscape viewing and exciting outdoor activities.
There are, however, certain times of the year which offer the perfect weather conditions for any preference.
In the findings of the research, Dartmoor came out as having the sixth least rainfall of all National Parks in the UK with an average of 86mm of rain over the month of October. Exmoor came in fifth at 82mm.
In terms of average temperatures across October, Dartmoor came in fifth place, at a balmy 11.5 degrees Celcius, with Exmoor following at 11.1.
According to the report, Dartmoor National Park was also the least crowded National Park in the UK, with just 0.3 million annual visitors reported. Exmoor came in at 0.5 million visitors.
