NEWTON Abbot College’s sixth form are today celebrating a fantastic set of level 3 examination results that are testament to the hard work, resilience and determination of its students, who despite the challenges of the last few years to their education, have performed brilliantly.
Despite the national picture of a reduction in the number of top grades being awarded this year, Newton Abbot College is celebrating several students who have achieved all three A Level or equivalent grades at B or above.
There were A and A* grades achieved across the full breadth of our science, creative arts and humanities subjects. BTEC and applied general qualifications continue to be a real success with a large proportion of students achieving distinction and distinction*.
Headteacher, Amy Grashoff, said: ‘I am absolutely delighted with the results of our sixth formers this summer; and am so proud of what they have achieved.
‘Over the last two years they have worked incredibly hard, showing real courage and a passion to succeed, and it is lovely to see them make such good progress and be rewarded with very well-deserved grades. We wish them lots of luck for the future and the next exciting chapter that awaits them.”
Natasha Martin, head of Sixth Form, said: ‘Our results show that students who come to Newton Abbot College to study their level 3 qualifications make really good progress and succeed at a high level; we add real value to their achievements.
‘So much of what we do is also about ensuring that our students are prepared for their next steps, so I am delighted that the vast majority of students achieved in line with what was required of them or better and can go on to the next stage of education or working life with confidence – be that university, apprenticeship or employment.
‘An incredible achievement – well done!’
