POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a local motorbiker was seriously injured in a crash near Bishopsteignton yesterday, Sunday.

Police are investigating the road traffic collision on the A381 Teignmouth Road near Bishopsteignton and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

A police spokesperson said: ‘Officers were called to reports of a collision involving a BMW car and a Kawasaki motorbike at around 2pm.

‘The motorcycle rider, a 38-year-old local man, was treated at the scene and taken to Derriford Hospital, where his injuries were described as life changing but not life threatening.

‘Officers from the Roads Policing Team and South West Ambulance Service attended the scene.

‘The road was closed for around three hours to allow for medical treatment, a police investigation and recovery of the vehicle. It was reopened at around 5.15pm.
