A MAN has died after suffering a ‘suspected episode’ that saw the air ambulance land in Newton Abbot.
One of Devon Air Ambulance’s two helicopters could be heard overhead at around 10am this morning, Friday, January 31.
The vehicle landed near Forde House.
Police were notified that a man had suffered a ‘suspected episode’ in the Brunel Road area of Newton Abbot just after 10am.
The man, aged in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: ‘We were called by ambulance service with a report that a man had suffered a suspected episode in the Brunel Road area of Newton Abbot at around 10.10am on Friday 31 January.
‘Paramedics and the air ambulance also attended the incident.
‘Sadly the man, aged in his 60s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
‘His next-of-kin have been informed.
‘The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.’
