RENDELL’s first sale of 2022 started the year at a cracking pace with confidence increasing that the worse of the pandemic is over.
It encouraged buyers to attend the sale in person and enjoy meeting fellow bidders who they had not seen for some time.
International buyers have been quiet for some time, but we welcomed bidders from numerous countries including Australia, Austria, China, Chile, Georgia, Germany, France, Hong Kong, Hungary, Netherlands, Turkey, Russia and the USA.

Principal prices paid for some of the better Lots in the sale were: An early 20th Century barrel back armchair with bow frame and studded leather upholstery, set on a mahogany turned stretcher base with square supports sold for £780; A large Victorian ecclesiastical carved wood angel flat back figurine – sold with another similar – various condition sold for £460; An antique brass Merryweather standard pattern fireman’s helmet, above, with dragon decorated crest and shield to front with 5FB and original chin strap. Sold for £500.
