A NEW era for Bovey Tracey has begun as its new Lidl store opens its doors.

The discount retailer opened on Thursday, December 5.

Mayor of Bovey Tracey, Cllr Shelia Brooke, cut the ribbon at 8am sharp as shoppers eagerly made their way inside the new store.

Spanning a sales area of 1,256m², the store features Lidl’s popular bakery, the ‘Middle of Lidl’ aisles and customer-friendly facilities such as baby-changing amenities, as well as ample parking for cars and bicycles.

Rosie Meehan, Regional Head of Property at Lidl GB, said: ‘We’re so excited to open our first store in Bovey Tracey, just as the Christmas season gets underway!

‘Those that previously travelled to Kingsteignton can now pick up their favourite Lidl festive treats closer to home, whilst new customers get to experience a Lidl Christmas for the first time.’
