STUDENTS at Dawlish College have been celebrating their achievements as they collected their GCSE and BTEC results today, Thursday.
Emotions ran high as students reacted with pride and relief to see that their hard work and determination had paid off, with more than a quarter of students achieving among the top grades (7-9 at GCSE or Level 2 Distinction at BTEC).
Special mentions go to Eliot, Jessica, Lawrence, Daniel and Bonnie for their outstanding performances across the board.
Headteacher, Sam Banks, said: ‘I am delighted to join my students today in celebrating each of their individual successes and achievements.
‘They have proven what it is possible to achieve with hard work and determination and I am extremely proud of all those who have set themselves up so well for their next stage in life.
‘In addition to the achievements of our “highflyers”, I am particularly proud of the students who have refused to accept any limitations and pushed themselves to achieve the very best they can.
‘Ofa, Jessica, Freya, Leticia and Davite all achieved between one and two grades higher than the targets set out for them from their Key Stage 2 attainment.
‘I would also like to recognise the contribution of the teaching and support staff who have gone above and beyond during the years of disruption this cohort experienced to ensure that these students still had the best education and pastoral support possible.’
