A GARDEN society’s annual flower show showcased some of the very best horticultural talent and much else besides.
Dawlish Garden Society’s ‘Flower, Produce and Crafts Show 2022’ took place on Saturday, August 13, from 1pm until 4pm.
The show, held at The Strand Centre in the town, featured more than 90 classes.
Chair of the society, June Cassidy, whose onions won first prize, said: ‘We had all the classes open this year which was marvellous.
‘We had so many nice comments from visitors and judges about the quality of the produce and especially of the handicraft and we have never had so many cookery enteries as well.
‘We had a quiz also, guess the weight of a watermelon which was won by a lady who was out by just one ounce!’
Dawlish Garden Society was founded in 1860 as the Dawlish Cottage Garden and Horticultural Society.
