A DAWLISH community charity is running a raffle to win a holiday in a bid to boost its funding after a Lottery grant ran out.

Roots Community Enhancement runs support groups for Dawlish and the surrounding area to help various different causes.

Lottery funding was awarded to the cause but this has now run out.

Organisers hope the prize of a holiday for seven will bring in much-needed cash.

Volunteer Holly Cotterill explained: ‘We run a huge number of support groups for all different causes and recently our lottery funding has run out.

‘We’re running a raffle with the prize of a holiday for seven people in a large cottage in Stafford with four days out to local attractions including zoos included.

Tickets are only £5 each and the prize is worth around £1,300, all the money goes to Roots.’

The prize offers accommodation offers six nights and seven days at a detached cottage in Staffordshire for up to seven people.

The winners will also receive various tickets to local attractions including Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World in Telford, Telford Exotic Zoo, Lower Drayton Farm and Trentham Monkey Forest.

Roots is based in Dawlish but runs support groups across the area.

Its projects include: Tempo Tots for children aged up to four at Dawlish Library for singing and crafts, the Cygnets group for up to 18 months at the Riverside Centre, a breastfeeding support group, an anxiety and depression support group and a bereavement group.
