THERE was a sharp weekly decrease of Covid cases compared the previous seven days.

According to the latest figures 159 new people had a confirmed positive test result reported in Teignbridge on February 7.

This means that between February 1 and 7, 1,505 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows a decrease of -41.2% compared to the previous seven days.

This in sharp contrast to the previous day’s figures showing a rise in cases over seven days.

There were no deaths within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported in the district on February 7 either.

VACCINATIONS

This comes as Teignbridge was acknowledged as having a booster vaccination record above the national average. It was revealed that 72.6 per cent of the district’s population above the age of 12 had received a Covid booster as of February 5. The national figure is 65.3 per cent.
