THE National Trust is offering free entry to properties this autumn.

The doors are open to Devon’s rich history until the 20th of October as The National Trust is offering free entry to most of its properties.

Europe’s biggest conservation charity’s free autumn passes allow free entry for two adults and up to three children, one adult and up to four children, or two adults on their own.

This allows people of all ages to learn more about where they live and appreciate the work of the charity.

Devon is prime National Trust territory and has a rich historical significance. It is home to medieval manors, 20th-century faux castles, and 18th-century houses. The charity care for their grand gardens and ensure their rich history is accessible to people of all ages through talks and events.

Its grand to unusual properties span years of history, from A La Ronde to the dramatic fortified manor house of Compton Castle - you can find the passes and more information about them on their website.

A spokesperson for the National Trust said: ‘Autumn’s a great time to get out and about, and we’re giving away a select number of autumn passes so people can get free entry to a National Trust place. We hope people enjoy exploring the nature and history on their doorstep.’
