VILLAGERS in Ashcombe are joining the fund raising effort to help Dawlish Community Transport following the arson attack which destroyed many of its vehicles.
A raffle is being held at Ashcombe Village Fete on Saturday to raise money.
Organisers have appealed for prizes for the raffle.
Spokesman Sarah Cartwright said: ‘In light of what happened, ashcombe village fete will be holding a raffle on the day to raise money for Dawlish Community Transport.
‘I know this is incredibly short notice but we will be running a raffle on the day with all monies raised from that raffle to go directly to Dawlish Community Transport after the horrific arson attack on six of their mini buses.
‘We help support and raise money to help this vital local charity at our regular monthly bingo.’
Meanwhile, as the charity managed to resume as near a normal service as possible, youngsters from Westcliff Primary School were still able to enjoy a trip to the zoo on Monday, just days after the fire.
A spokesman for Westcliff School said: ‘A huge thank you to Dawlish Community Transport who despite the devastating fire are still providing transport for one of our school trips on Monday, thank you for all you have done to support our school this year.’
The Strand Centre in Dawlish is selling tickets for the Ashcombe Village Fete raffle.
