ASHBURTON Firefighters came to the rescue of a flooded flat with water leaking through light fittings and the ceiling yesterday evening, Friday.

They report on their Facebook page: ‘This evening we had a call to water leaking through light fittings and the celling of a flat in Ashburton.

‘On arrival crews made the electric safe and found the source of the leak and isolating the water to prevent further damage.

‘Crews then used a mini injector pump to remove as much water as possible before handing the incident over to the tenants.’
