HEAVY rain in Dawlish is causing the Brook through the town to rise.
Today’s downpours were forecast as the Met Office issued another yellow weather warning across the south west.
Spells of heavy rain are expected to continue throughout this evening.
Between noon and 2pm today, the Brook has risen by an estimated two inches.
The town’s famous waterfowl are sitting it out on higher ground over the Lawn.
The higher level has covered the infamous Dawlish ‘beach’ which prompted the campaign to clear the watercourse of debris and silt.
High tide is due at 6pm so water levels through the seaward end of the town are likely to rise further.
Dawlish resident Noreen Goodchild braved the wet to take these photos of the high water level.
