FIREFIGHTERs were called in to Chudleigh this morning after reports of a fire at a property.

Crew from Ashburton and Bovey Tracey were mobilised to the ancient wool town in the early hours of this morning, Friday, February 28.

Upon arrival, crews discovered an electrical consumer unit to be on fire.

Breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet, thermal imagining camera and a smoke clearance fan was used to handle the shout.

‘The damage was limited to the consumer unit and the cause was accidental’ Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service have said.
