THE RSPCA has launched an investigation after two dead dogs were found dumped in a pond in Kingsteignton.
The dead tan terrier type dogs were found in a plastic bag in a fishing pond at Abbrook Pond, Lower Preston, near Kingsteignton, on Tuesday, April 11.
An RSPCA spokesperson said: 'Sadly, it has been impossible to confirm whether the dogs are male or female.
RSPCA inspector Ellie Burt, who is investigating for the animal welfare charity, said: 'If anyone has any information I would urge them to come forward and contact the RSPCA on 0300 123 8018.
'The two dogs, who we think may have been siblings, were sadly found in the water by a member of the public.'
Meanwhile, the RSPCA is urging animal lovers to sign up to become Wildlife Friends as part of the charity’s involvement in the King’s Coronation community volunteering Big Help Out initiative on May 8 .
