DAWLISH children’s charity AIMS had a special guest when Mayor Rosie Dawlish joined in carving pumpkins. 

Cllr Dawlish took part in activities run by the Dawlish children’s special needs group, which included biscuit decorating. 

She said: ‘They are a wonderful group who have a huge, positive impact on families using these services.

‘There were some scary costumes, a great atmosphere and it was good to talk to families who face struggles daily.’

Established by retired Dawlish GP Jill Diprose, AIMS was set up 30 years ago to support local families who have children with special needs. 

Families meet each Saturday at Orchard Manor School where qualified play-leaders provide safe, stimulating play and activities, crafts, cooking and music for the whole family and a team of dedicated volunteers back up the range of weekly activities and occasional outings.
