£3,000 has been donated to local charities thanks to the ‘Cuddly Toy Gang’.
The group hosts charity bingo each month at Ashcombe Village Hall, and a recent Christmas-themed session saw five charities receive a share of £3,000.
Dawlish Community Transport, AIMs, St Nectan’s Church, the Strand Centre and Pete’s Dragons were the five charities.
A spokesperson for the ‘Cuddly Toy Gang’ expressed her thanks to all the people who regularly attended, as well as Tom Hunt who helps organise the sessions, Sara Cartright, our caller, Matt who looks after the bar and last but not least, Frank and Carol Waister for providing the refreshments.
Next month there will be no bingo in January as work is being carried out on the hall, but sessions will continue on February 5 at 7.30pm for eyes down at 8.00pm.
