LAST month a total of 25 offences were reported in the parish of Bovey Tracey.
In a report to Bovey Tracey Town Council, PCSO Paul Wilson stated the most recorded offences comprised four cases of harassment offences; four theft offences, three cases of criminal damage and three public order offences.
Police responded to approximately 62 other incidents in the same period. This includes road traffic incidents, missing persons, anti-social behaviour, and concerns for welfare.
Overall, in the period January 1 to October 31, the number of recorded offences in Bovey Tracey stands at 217. In comparison the same period in 2021 was 233 showing a slight decrease of 16 offences, approximately 6.9 per cent.
PCSO Wilson added: ‘The fact we were in lockdown through at least part of this period in 2021, shows that Bovey Tracey remains a safe place to both live and work.’
The Neighbourhood Police team work out of Ashburton Police station and Chudleigh Police office, and covers Bovey Tracey, Heathfield and part of the A38 around the Drum Bridges area as well as the A382 towards Moretonhampstead.
