AN ART, craft and jumble sale organised by youngsters in Newton Abbot was a resounding success.

Newton Abbot Youth Council's (NAYC) event proved popular with those visiting the town’s Courtenay Centre on Saturday, February 22.

The group’s inaugural event showcased its members creations, as well as those of crafters from across Devon.

With everything from pencil and glasses cases and pin cushions to keyring and bracelets, NAYC’s members had all manner of items on offer.

‘It was nice to bring the community together' said Ethan, pictured above.

'The set up was very organised and it was busy' said Nyla.

‘It was fun!' added Freya.

'It was fun getting involved with the planning' said Gracie.

Newton Abbot Youth Council gives young people the opportunity to create change in the community, gain valuable leadership and social skills and meet friends.

'We appreciate everyone who came to support us' NAYC’s members said.
