POLICE officers were called to a Newton Abbot town centre bank on Tuesday afternoon.
Officers were alerted to reports of a potential fraud at Lloyds Bank in Courtenay Street about 3pm.
An onlooker said: ‘I saw a police car pulled up outside, the doors were all locked.
‘No one could be seen on the main floor of the bank and people seemed to be at the back of the building.’
A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall police said: ‘Police were called to reports of a possible fraud at a commercial premises in Courtenay Street, Newton Abbot, at around 2.25pm today 12 April.
‘Officers attended the scene and enquiries are ongoing.’
Police officers had left the scene by 4.30pm.
