A DRUNKEN pub customer who was told to leave after he threw peanuts around the inn and tried to get more booze from behind the bar, attacked the landlord with a bottle.
Alan Hedge was caught on CCTV as he assaulted Andrei Slipszenko at the Saracens Head pub in Newton Abbot early last December as he tried to throw him out.
Hedge, 31, who has no previous convictions, admitted unlawful wounding after the landlord suffered cuts to his neck and other injuries.
At Exeter Crown Court Judge James Adkin said Hedge, of Higher Langford Road, Abbotskerswell, was drunk and 'making a nuisance of yourself' and used a bottle as a weapon.
The judge said: ‘Publicans need protecting from drunks.’
He jailed Hedge for 11 months, suspended for two years, ordered him to pay £1,500 compensation and £1,000 costs.
And he gave him a five month nighttime curfew which will affect his Christmas celebrations and banned him from going to the pub for six months.
