STUDENTS at a Dawlish school enjoyed banging the drums at a workshop.
Youngsters at Orchard Manor special school worked with musicians trying instruments from African drums to glokenspeils.
Organiser Flo Whitcombe, expressive arts lead at the school, explained how the pupils enjoyed the workshop, creating simple beats and playing a variety of percussion.
The day, funded by the Helen Foundation, the Teignbridge arts charity, gave the children the chance to try out wooden frog guiros and big Samba Surdo kits.
Flo said: ‘Our favourite though, were the hand pans, they were amazing and we all loved playing these idiophonic instruments.
‘They sounded beautiful and were such a relaxing way to end the workshops.
‘Our day was funding by The Helen Foundation which provides rich, creative and inspirational experiences for schools across Teignbridge.
‘We are very grateful to them for providing an opportunity for our students to be feel included, relaxed and confident enough to contribute creatively in brand new musical experiences.’
