SHOPS around Newton Abbot have put on a fine show for the Coronation.

We can now reveal the winners of the Coronation Shop window competition.

Mayor of Newton Abbot, Cllr Carol Bunday, and Sally Henley, Newton Abbot town development manager, were delighted to present the Coronation Window winners’ prizes to Wignall’s Ltd.

While they voted the Devon Air Ambulance Shop as the best charity shop window

Sally said: ‘The mayor and I had an enjoyable, if wet and windy time looking at the celebration windows.

‘I was pleased to present a certificate and boxes of Coronation bickies to:

Best Coronation window – Wignall’s Ltd – featured in this photo is showroom manager Martyn Allicock.

‘The window scheme which encompassed the many windows on this corner premises in Wolborough Street, including matching hanging baskets, was designed and put in place by Charlotte Wignall and Lisa Pickford.’

The best charity shop window – Devon air Ambulance – had a suitably patriotic and celebratory Royal theme.
