A SUMMARY of the meeting of full council of Bovey Tracey Town Council held on November 14 at St Catherine’s Primary School in Heathfield.

• A proposed Climate and Ecology Bill was discussed by Cllr Fletcher. Councillors supported the bill in questions and the Town Council will write to Mel Stride MP to urge him to sign-up to support the bill.

• ‘Friends of Mill Marsh Park’ recently planted 1,000 bulbs in the park which included Wild Daffodils, English Bluebells and Snakehead Fritillary.

• The council are still seeking views from Boveymen about next year’s budgetary priorities. To voice your opinion on the matter, contact [email protected]

• Councillors supported the proposal to continue the Community Awards: nominations for Young Citizen; Community Champion; Environmental Champion and Honorary Representative of the Lord of the Manor will be sort in February next year.

• Provided by the Carnival Committee and supported by Bovey Tracey Town Council, a Christmas Market is to take place on December 3 from 2pm to 7pm, which will see the Christmas lights switched on also.

• A drop-in session to meet councillors will be held at the Riverside Community Centre on Tuesday, December 13.

From 4pm to 7pm, residents will have the opportunity to quiz presently elected councillors about how they became involved in council work and the difference one came back in the local community by being a councillor.
