A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill tonight, Wednesday, in Newton Abbot.
A police helicopter was spotted circling in Newton Abbot earlier this evening and police have just revealed the reason why.
On their Facebook page the town’s police say: ‘We would like to reassure the public about an incident earlier today in Newton Abbot where several resources were used including our helicopter, firearms officers and dog handlers.
‘Police were called to Wolborough Street just before 4.30pm following a report of a concern for welfare of a man.
‘This is an isolated incident and a 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of threats to kill, he currently remains in police custody.;
